This evening, I'm once again daydreaming about having a cabin in the woods to retreat to. Not quite a homestead, but somewhere away from society. To that end, it would also mean stepping back from the capitalist treadmill. So, building systems and tools which last time and don't require frequent replacement.
One thing I find myself pondering is a computer system that is designed to last as long as possible. Which means, as few moving pieces as possible. Maybe it's a Raspberry pi based system? Not sure, but a fun thought experiment.
