Nick Bostic risked his life to save five children from a burning house
I first saw the video on Reddit. In it, you can see the body cam footage of a Police officer as he surveys the scene and informs firefighters about Nick being inside.
Then you see Nick emerge, gasping for air, carrying a six year old. And at that moment I'm already welling up with tears. But then, as he lays on the grass gasping for air and recovering, I hear him ask "Is the baby okay?" And I began to cry in compassion and love for this person.
This happened last year and his gofundme raised over $600,000. Good for him and I hope he carries on to live a happy life knowing the good he did that night.
Adam Savage looks at a "Perpetual Motion" device
Adam is so charismatic, I really enjoyed him talking about and theorizing about the machine's workings. I am certain there is a project for himself in the future to create this himself.
A beautiful documentary video on a man's work renovating two stone cabins in the alps. Stunning vistas. It's slow, so highly recommend it for background viewing, but still inspirational.
ClipChamp - An in-browser video editor
Came across it and figured I'd share. It apparently doesn't allow Firefox (for now, according to a dev.) But seems worth looking into for video editing.
Screencast recording failed, will try again
Tried something new this morning, I did a screen recording as I went through my RSS feeds and read the morning's news. Foolishly, I didn't check to make sure the recording setup was working since it was the first time doing it. After I finish, I open the video to discover it had recorded my mouse movements on a black screen and no audio. So... that didn't exactly work as expected. But, I might try it again another time. We'll see.
